When you register and use Marggies Love Lounge, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, password (stored in hashed form), and membership tier preference.
• Profile information: display name, gender, date of birth, location, relationship goals, interests, photos, and other details you choose to provide in your profile.
• Payment information: payment references and transaction status processed through our payment partners (Paystack and Flutterwave). We do not store your full card or bank details on our servers.
• Matchmaking activity: expressed interests, mutual matches, messages sent within the platform (limited to three messages per match), profile passes, and search preferences.
• Technical information: IP address (used to determine regional pricing options), browser type, and general usage data necessary to operate the platform securely.

We use your information solely to provide and improve our matchmaking services, including to:

• Create and manage your account and profile
• Process membership payments and activate your subscription
• Display your profile to other members according to your membership tier and visibility settings
• Facilitate matchmaking, including expressing interest, mutual matches, and limited in-platform messaging
• Send transactional email notifications (for example, when someone expresses interest in your profile)
• Provide VIP concierge support and admin-facilitated connections for premium tier matches
• Respond to support requests, safety reports, and account-related inquiries
• Maintain platform security and prevent fraud or misuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional campaigns.

Your phone number and contact details are collected as part of your profile. They are not visible to other members by default.

Contact details may be revealed only when:

• Two members have mutually expressed interest in each other, and
• Both members have active, paid accounts with available match credits, and
• The match qualifies under our tier rules (Basic tier matches may receive automatic contact reveal; VIP and Elite Matchmaking matches may require admin-facilitated connection before contact is released)

For premium tier matches, our admin team may contact you directly to facilitate the connection before releasing contact details to the other party.

We send transactional email only — emails triggered by activity on your account. These include notifications when another member expresses interest in your profile.

Emails are sent to the address you provide at registration. By creating an account, you consent to receive these account-related notifications. We do not send bulk marketing email or share your email address with third parties for advertising purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

• With other members: your profile information is visible to other registered, paid members according to your visibility settings and membership tier. Contact details are shared only as described in Section 3.
• With service providers: we use trusted third-party providers to operate the platform, including cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Paystack, Flutterwave), email delivery (Amazon SES), and database services (MongoDB Atlas). These providers process data only as needed to perform their services.
• For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and platform.

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Profile photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage with access controls.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong password and keep your login credentials confidential.

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated by you or by an administrator, we may retain certain records as required for legal, safety, or operational purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for non-essential processing (account-related transactional emails are required to use the service)

Marggies Love Lounge is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will deactivate the account and delete associated data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
